RCI’s response to our inquiry
July 24, 2007
We did receive a response to our question about the rumor of RCI ending live music aboard ship. This is a quote from Peter Compton, Vice President of Entertainment & Guest Activities for Royal Caribbean International.
“Royal Caribbean is dedicated to providing its guest with a wide array of entertainment options. We have recently made some modifications to the type of live entertainment we offer onboard but continue to provide our guests with a range of live performances throughout our fleet.”
We would like to thank Lyan Sierra-Caro, Acct. Executive, Corporate Communications, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises for this quote and all her help on addressing this rumor.

THE BRIDGE! Not only were we to get a tour of the bridge, but we were going to be there during SAIL-AWAY!!!! We were sooo excited! This was a once in a lifetime event! We asked if pictures were allowed, and they said that was ok. After the all-clear from the Ship’s doctor, the radio call was given for us to pull up the lines that had us tied to the pier! We all were completely silent while the crew did their procedures for undocking a cruise ship!
None of us could believe what we were seeing, and I will never forget my experience on the bridge that afternoon. It was such an honor to be there, and I was so humbled by the whole experience that later I wrote the captain a very nice thank you note, telling him that I will always remember how we left Ensenada that day.
After we cleared the harbor, the captain came over to our group and spoke with us about how he doesn’t do this treatment often, and only reserves it for those that he feels would truly appreciate it. I am really glad he did that. It was so awesome!

Home (it hurts to say it) from the Rhapsody
July 23, 2007
WOW, what a week! We could go on and on and on and on………
Everything was wonderful, even the cancelled shorex in Costa Maya worked out for the best. So many stories to tell!
We spent today unpacking, grocery shopping, and then grabbed some dinner (we had to PAY, and they didn’t even place a napikn on my lap!)
We’re both exhausted in a great way, and now we go back to the reality of work tomorrow.
I’ll catch up with y’all in a day or so,
PRC
Rhapsody Day 7
July 22, 2007
Well, it was a sad day today…packing! We spent the day lounging at the pool, they had a bbq going on next to the pool bar. Jody is now officially trained in towel animal making! Final dinner was nice, but saying goodby was hard. The Rhapsody always has a parade the last night ending in the centrum..it’s hard to imagine the ole’girl without all the Texas flair.
We knew we were almost home when after dinner we went by our cabin and looked out on the balcony…oil & gas platforms everywhere. That’s life in the northern gulf!
Farewell show was great. Jody made a final contribution to the casino. I’m tired.
Tomorrow is the long drive home (45 minutes!).
Paul & Jody
